Materials required
Strip of red crepe paper, 8 inches x 1 3/4 inches for petals
Strip of green crepe paper,1 3/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches for the middle leaf
Strip of green crepe paper, 1 3/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches for two leaves
1 yard of black wool for the stamens
Piece of wire, 8 inches long
Strip of green crepe paper, 8 1/2 inches x 1/2 inches

Preparation of Materials
Fold the strip of red crepe paper, 8 inches x 1 3/4 inches into two equai parts, by the dotted line (Fig. 85, which is half size), and with the scissors cut through the crease you've just created by folding the paper in half. Each piece represents six petals.

Fold No. 1. piece into two equal parts, by the dotted line (Fig. 86, which is ful1 size), then fold each piece into three equal pieces, by the dotted lines (Fig. 87), and cut into shape through the dotted line with scissors (Fig. 88).

Repeat this process with No. II. strip to obtain the other six petals.

Fold the strip of green crepe paper, It-in. X I-in., into two equal parts, by the dotted line (Fig. 89), and then cut the corner off, taking care to do so at the open edges. A-B represents the folded edge or middle of leaf, and C the portion cut off (Fig. 90).

Cut out the two pieces, D and E, by the dotted lines, then cut through the curved line F (Fig. 91).

Fold the strip of green crepe paper, 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 into two equal parts, by the dotted lines (Fig. 92), and cut into shape through the dotted line with scissors, to obtain two leaves (Fig. 93).

Assembling the parts of the flower
Prepare a center, as for a Wild Rose, with the black wool (Fig. 94).

Bind on the red petals, one after another, each slightly overlapping the one before (Fig. 95), and wrap the stalk an inch down from the Hower head from G to H.

Place the claw-like leaf, or center one, at either side of the stalk where the green covering finishes, and bind with thread at H (Fig. 96).

Place the two green leaves one on either side of the middle one, and bind them in position with thread. Wrap the stalk to the end. Fig. 97 shows the finished flower.

Arrange in vases alone, or with dried grasses and ferns.
